Pest Control Technician (CF) at Centinela State Prison in Imperial, CA is a 12-month Limited Term full-time position under the Chief Engineer I, CF. The role provides complete vector control for the institution buildings and grounds and requires maintaining a valid pest control applicator license.

Under the general direction of the Chief Engineer I, CF, the Pest Control Technician, CF will provide complete vector control of the institution buildings and grounds. This position shall maintain a pest control applicators license approved by all controlling agencies. Maintain a safety consciousness and awareness with specific attention to factors such as phone numbers to dial in emergency situations, familiarize yourself with alternate measures of summoning aid when the telephone is not available, know the location of the nearest fire extinguisher at locations where you spend most of your time, correct or report any safety hazards that you observe and use common sense in resolving safety problems, and know the location of the nearest breakaway gurney. Please see attached duty statement for full details. This is a 12 month Limited Term position that may be extended to 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

Ability to: Identify and take steps required to control vertebrate and invertebrate pests; prepare written reports and records; train other personnel in preventive pest control methods; and instruct and lead unskilled workers.
