Job summary

Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa in Gatlinburg, Tennessee is hiring a Pest Control Technician to protect turf, hotel rooms, and restaurants by applying pesticides and chemicals. You will mix formulations, calibrate sprayers, and follow safety procedures while working outdoors and in guest areas.

The role requires 1–2 years related pest control experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift, stand, and work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Maintain healthy turf and ornamentals by spraying pests.
• Spray turf and ornamentals with herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.
• Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals per formula.
• Mix pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides for application.
• Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides, considering weather and droplet size.

Job Description

Provide pest control on turf, hotel rooms, and restaurants and in all areas maintained by Westgate. Mix/apply pesticides, or insecticides through sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation or chemical application on trees, shrubs, lawns, or botanical crops.

As Pest Control Technician, you will:.

• Maintain good healthy turf and ornamentals by spraying unwanted pests
• Spray turf and ornamentals with herbicides, insecticides and fungicides using several different methods including but not limited to; boom spraying, flood jet, wand and drench spraying
• Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formula
• Mix pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides for application to trees, shrubs, lawns, or botanical crops
• Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides, applying knowledge of weather conditions, droplet sizes, elevation-to-distance ratios, and obstructions
• Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes in order to direct spray over designated areas
• Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

Qualifications

• One to two years related experience
• High school diploma OR GED required
• Written and verbal communication in English is expected
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts
• Strong communication skills required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues
• Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions
• Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States
