Job summary

Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is seeking an experienced citrus pest control specialist. The role involves traveling between California ranches to implement IPM programs, scout fields, and coordinate pesticide applications with ranch managers.

A clean DMV record and a valid CA driver’s license are required along with a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or plant science preferred. Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $110,000 per year with comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and

Qualifications

• BS in Agronomy or plant science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct IPM programs, identify pests, diseases, weeds, and provide recommendations.
• Monitor fields for economic thresholds and evaluate chemical efficacy.
• Coordinate pesticide applications with ranch managers and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Order chemicals and manage field scout operations; maintain inventory.

Job Overview

Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is looking for an optimistic, committed, and motivated candidate who has at least 5 years of experience with citrus pest control. This job will require traveling from one ranch to another which will require a valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV record.

Duties / Responsibilities

Job duties include but are not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for finding insects, diseases, weeds and other organisms along with implementing IPM programs and writing recommendations
• Monitor and scout fields for economic thresholds
• Evaluate chemical efficacy in fields
• Correctly use chemicals for maximum fruit quality
• Communicate with ranch managers to coordinate pesticide applications
• Comply with California Department of Pesticide Regulations
• Order chemicals and keep inventory up to date
• Manage field scouts
• Coordinate pest control operations

Required Skills / Abilities

• Must have a clean driving record
• BS in Ag or plant science preferred
• Must be able to follow our Fleet Safety Program and Policies
• Valid PCA license

Physical Requirements

• Employee is regularly required to walk, stand for periods of time at workstation, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in extreme cold, heat, or humidity; and sometimes can include work in dusty or muddy work conditions
