Job summary

Alutiiq, LLC is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist–Mid Level in Vienna, VA to oversee USAccess (HSPD-12) adjudication and sponsor roles. You will review investigations, draft memoranda, and manage background checks while ensuring compliance with SEC policies and SCI requirements.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, 3–5 years of experience in Personnel Security, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include processing adjudications, maintaining databases, and supporting other

Qualifications

HS Diploma or Equivalent required for eligibility.
Hands-on Personnel Security experience and adjudication knowledge.
Experience initiating and reviewing background investigations and related docs.
Familiar with security databases and clearance repositories (JPAS/JCAVS, CVS, PIPS, DISS, JVS, CATS, NBIS, Scattered Castles).
Strong written and verbal communication; knowledge of government security programs.

Responsibilities

Serve as Personnel Security SME and interpret security policy guidance.
Adjudicate or sponsor PIV/USAccess (HSPD-12) requests in the system.
Review reports and make recommendations to grant/deny/suspend clearance eligibility.
Identify security and suitability concerns; prepare adjudicative memoranda.
Assist with SCI nomination/adjudication and background investigations submission.
Support certification/revalidation and Continuous Evaluation requirements.
