Position Overview

As a Personnel Security Specialist II, you will manage background investigations, verify e-QIP accuracy, and ensure security compliance for federal employees and contractors. Responsibilities include data entry, applicant communication, and case management to support the Security Program.

Key Responsibilities

• Support security assessments and investigations.
• Conduct interviews with stakeholders.
• Process security clearance documentation and background checks.
• Prepare reports and presentations, utilizing critical thinking.
• Advise on security concerns and manage documentation.
• Collaborate with Field Offices for compliance and investigation thoroughness.
• Recommend investigative actions, including polygraphs.
• Maintain and protect sensitive data.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance and pass a polygraph.
• Two years of personnel security investigative experience or as an investigative analyst.
• Experience with database checks and credit report interpretation.
• Strong analytical skills to identify vulnerabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Federal IT systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree (2 years’ experience) or Associate’s Degree (4 years’ experience) in a related field.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of Federal Investigative Standards (FISs), Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), and CFR.
