Job Description Summary:
The primary objective of the Personal Training Manager is to maximize member participation in, and retention of, paid Personal Training Services across our locations. This is achieved by meeting and exceeding client acquisition and retention goals.
The Personal Training Manager will:
- Manage and coach the front-end selling process of the CrunchOne Kickoff.
- Oversee the delivery of personal training services.
- Own the client journey by engaging customers with our paid programming.
The manager is responsible for upholding company standards, leading by example, and ensuring team members maintain punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness, and cleanliness.
Job Duties:
- Coach Personal Trainers to sell directly, performing at least 50% of all CrunchOne Kickoffs.
- Guide and role-play with personal trainer direct reports on sales techniques.
- Manage schedules and resources based on KPIs.
- Ensure proper execution and communication of the Client Journey, especially during the first 90 days.
- Ensure high-quality program delivery backed by scientific rationale.
- Administer personal training services accurately, including usage of dotFit, goal tracking, measurements, program design, and progress reports.
- Hire, train, and manage Personal Trainers.
- Conduct performance reviews and motivate team members towards goals.
- Maintain performance reports and communicate insights and improvement plans to the General Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of personal training techniques and program design.
- Strong sales, communication, and rapport-building skills.
- Proficiency with Crunch programs such as VFP, dotFit, ABC/Datatrak, Crunch U, Styku, etc.
- Ability to operate all club equipment.
- Experience in coaching and motivating groups.
- Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong member service focus.
- Professional responses to guest, member, and staff inquiries.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
Certifications (one or more):
- ACSM Certified Personal Trainer
- ACE Personal Trainer Certification
- The Cooper Institute Personal Trainer Certification
- IFPA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification
- NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise, or Performance Enhancement
- NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification
- NFPT Personal Trainer Certification
- NSCA Certified Personal Trainer or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Experience:
- 1-2 years as a Personal Training Manager.
- Preferred: Management experience in retail/hospitality leading 3-10 employees.
- Preferred: Consultative sales experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a club office, move about club floors, review, revise, and create paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with employees, members, and the public.
- Demonstrate or explain physical activities and techniques.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
