Monarch Recreation Center in Pflugerville, TX, seeks a dedicated Personal Trainer to provide individualized fitness assessments, personalized training programs, and one-on-one coaching for members.

Under the supervision of the Fitness Coordinator, you will design tailored programs, assess progress, guide members on the gym floor, and help maintain a clean, safe training space while contributing to revenue through training sales.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of personal training. One (1) year of experience in the fitness or exercise industry.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • Exercise certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, Cooper Institute, or equivalent), or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Preferred: CPT or Group Fitness Instructor credential.

Job Summary

The position ensures safe, effective, and motivating exercise experiences while helping members work toward their fitness goals.

Job Qualifications

Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Relatable Work Experience: Three (3) years of personal training. One (1) year of experience in the fitness or exercise industry.

Training, Licenses, and Certifications: CPR, AED, and First Aid. Exercise certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, Cooper Institute, or equivalent), or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Group Fitness Instructor credential.

Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

Knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise science.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, balance, and demonstrate exercises.
Ability to lift 50-100lbs.safely or with help.
Exposure to weightlifting equipment.
Occasional exposure to outdoor fitness events.
Exposure to loud environments.
Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals.
