City of Pflugerville is seeking a Fitness Specialist to support daily operations on the fitness floor, assist patrons, monitor equipment, and promote a welcoming environment as part of our Parks and Recreation team.
The role emphasizes safety, strong customer service, and support for events and programming while maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the facility. CPR/First Aid readiness is required or attainable within 6 months.
The Fitness Specialist supports daily operations of the fitness floor by assisting patrons, monitoring equipment usage, maintaining a welcoming environment, and supporting athletic and recreation programming. The position ensures participant safety and excellent customer service.
Must be at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled in high school or have completed high school/GED.
Experience with fitness or weight room equipment through employment, athletics, training, or other relevant experience.
CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Management, Recreation, Exercise Science, or related field. Certified Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor. Current group exercise certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, Cooper Institute, or equivalent).
