Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Personal Trainer to join our team in Tacoma, WA. You’ll design and lead personalized fitness sessions, tailored to each member’s goals, abilities, and lifestyle, delivering energetic and empowering programs.

You will conduct fitness assessments, track progress, and provide guidance in a welcoming, safe environment across YMCA centers. This part-time role offers flexible shifts, a competitive hourly wage, and benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Nationally accredited Personal Trainer Certification or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in health and fitness field.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen certifications current.
• Ability to work in-person at all YMCA Centers across Pierce & Kitsap Counties.
• Reliable transportation to travel across counties.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and lead a variety of personal training sessions based on members' goals and abilities.
• Provide in-person sessions at YMCA Centers across Pierce & Kitsap Counties.
• Evaluate health history questionnaires and fitness assessments.
• Offer feedback, encouragement, and progress reevaluations to clients.
• Maintain records of sessions and ensure proper payment receipts.
