Job summary

The Somerville YMCA in Somerset County, New Jersey, seeks a responsible Personal Trainer to help members build personalized fitness programs in a brand-new Wellness Center with ample space and equipment.

Responsibilities include wellness orientations, assessing health history, creating client-specific plans, and offering small-group sessions. A nationally recognized trainer certification and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized certification is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required (will provide if needed).
• Willing to be on your feet for a few hours
• Enjoys interacting with people

Responsibilities

• Engage and educate members about the benefits of exercise.
• Schedule appointments to develop structured programs based on health history, interests, goals and needs of the member.
• Develop, implement, and instruct a variety of personal training and small group sessions.
• Builds relationships to maintain growth of member participation and increase member retention level.
• Establish support to help members meet their goals.
• Works wellness floor to find potential clients.
• Provide Wellness Department Orientations to new members
• Identify and correct lifting techniques
• Create client specific fitness programming
• Provide tours to potential members
• Register new members or current members for on-going training packages
• Data entry tracking
• Opportunity to enhance career education by attaining certifications in wellness programs (Livestrong) for cancer survivors.
