Job summary

The Somerville YMCA, part of the Greater Somerset County YMCA, is seeking a Personal Trainer to build a long-term client base in a brand-new Wellness Center with ample space and equipment for creative workouts. Some new clients may be available from Day 1.

You will engage members, tailor programs to health histories and goals, and lead various training sessions. Qualifications include HS Diploma, National Personal Trainer Certification, and CPR/First Aid Certification.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma.
• National Personal Trainer Certification is required.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is required (will be provided if needed).

Responsibilities

• Engage and educate members about the benefits of exercise.
• Schedule appointments to develop structured programs based on health history, interests, goals and needs.
• Develop, implement, and instruct a variety of personal training and small group sessions.
• Builds relationships to maintain steady growth of member participation and retention.
• Establish support to help members meet their goals.
• Works wellness floor to find potential clients.
• Provide Wellness Department Orientations to new members.
• Identify and correct lifting techniques.
• Create client-specific fitness programming.
• Provide tours to potential members.
• Register new members or current members for ongoing training packages.
• Data entry tracking.
