Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties is seeking a Personal Trainer to provide safe, effective programs and personalized attention for members’ fitness goals. Trainers will generate personal training sales revenue and deliver clear, motivating instructions while delivering exceptional member service.

Qualifications

• In-house certification or equivalent education and experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Nationally Accredited Personal Trainer Certification (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NPTI or AFFA).
• Strict compliance to assessment protocol and client progression.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and educational training sessions.
• Recruit and maintain clientele on a continual basis.

Requirements

Qualifications

• In-house certification* or equivalent appropriate education and experience.
• Current CPR certification
• Nationally Accredited Personal Trainer Certification. (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NPTI or AFFA.)
• Strict compliance to assessment protocol and client progression.
• Ability to provide helpful and customized fitness information for health seekers.
• Strong interpersonal, listen first and participant engagement skills necessary.
• Serve as an ambassador to the Family YMCA in the community - always presenting in a positive, highly professional manner.
• Dedication to timeliness and commitment to all appointments and events.
• Ability to respond and take lead in emergency situations with proper procedure.
• *Within 90 days of employment or first available training.
• Must pass background check.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Bilingual preferred

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Ability to conduct classes and activities.
• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Essential Functions

• Must be reliable, prompt and practice excellent attendance.
• Adhere to check in and check out policies.
• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational sessions, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Recruit and maintain clientele on a continual basis.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Keeps accurate attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
