Job summary

New Communities in Farmington, ME is seeking a Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to assist seniors with personal care and encourage participation in activities. This role offers part-time shifts (4-hour evenings or weekend coverage) and a per diem option, with on-site training provided.

No medication administration is required; opportunities to advance to CRMA exist. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• 18 years of age or older
• Experience in direct care is preferred but not required; training available
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English

Positions available:

• Part-time 3 or 4 shifts a week from 4:00p - 8:00p with rotating schedule including every other weekend.
• Part-time every other Saturday and Sunday 2:00p - 10:15p
• Relief / Per diem - work hours are not guaranteed and are scheduled on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for someone looking for flexibility rather than a set schedule.

Pay rate ranging from $15.10 to $16.85 per hour for part and full-time positions depending on certifications and shift differentials. Relief / Per diem rate of pay is $15.10 per hour.

The role:

As a Personal Support Specialist (PSS) at our assisted living/senior living home located in Farmington, ME, you will provide caregiver support to seniors to live life fully. You will assist with personal care and inspire residents to participate in fun, recreational activities. PSSs do not pass medications to residents; however, there are opportunities to advance your career and become a Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA).
