Job summary

Nationwide in Columbus invites students to join its Personal Lines Claims Intern program for 12 weeks, building a foundation in claims operations while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll learn the claims process, support disposition of claims, and participate in professional development through hands-on assignments and leadership events.

Four interns will be placed in Property or Auto, with a capstone project to identify an opportunity in Claims and present it to leadership for

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field.
• Completion of sophomore or junior year is preferred.
• Involvement in student activities and/or some work experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes training to understand the claims process.
• Adheres to professional conduct standards.
• Learn to determine policy coverages and assist with investigations and estimates.
• Builds knowledge of Personal Lines auto or property claims and guidelines.
• Submits administrative reports as needed.
• Initiates and conducts follow-ups in the claims system.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
• Complete a capstone project: identify an opportunity area within Claims and present to leadership.
