Job description

Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for an adept negotiator who thrives in high-volume environments, maintains meticulous organization, and ensures clients feel informed and supported. The ideal candidate enjoys challenging cases and is excited when faced with a challenge.

Glenda Mitchell Law Firm, with offices in Georgia and Alabama, is a distinguished personal injury firm committed to advocating for clients across Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. Founded on principles of integrity, dedication, and community, our firm prides itself on delivering exceptional service and results‑driven advocacy.

Our team comprises approximately 30 dedicated professionals who collaborate across departments, prioritizing communication and teamwork. This close‑knit culture ensures seamless case handling and advanced client care.

The Personal Injury Pre‑Litigation Paralegal role is vital to managing high‑volume pre‑litigation cases. Working closely with the firm owner, you will directly impact client satisfaction and case outcomes by securing favorable settlements and guiding clients through essential decisions.

What you’ll do:
  • Case Management: Handle pre‑litigation cases after the Demand Department receives a settlement offer, ensuring timely and efficient case progression.
  • Negotiation: Engage with insurance adjusters to negotiate the best settlements, maximizing client compensation.
  • Client Communication: Present settlement offers and detailed breakdowns, guiding clients through the decision‑making process with clarity and empathy.
  • Provider Follow‑Up: Ensure all medical provider balances are reconciled for accurate settlement calculations.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with Glenda Mitchell and other departments to smoothly transition cases to litigation when necessary.
  • Assistant Oversight: Supervise and delegate tasks to a Pre‑Litigation Assistant, ensuring workload balance and progress.
  • Case Ownership: Proactively monitor case progress, identify potential roadblocks, and ensure matters continue moving forward without unnecessary delays.
  • Phone Coverage: Assist with answering incoming calls and appropriately routing them within the firm.
  • Pre‑Litigation Focus: Manage cases exclusively during the pre‑litigation settlement phase, beginning after a demand package has been submitted and an offer received from the insurance carrier.
What we’re looking for:
  • Legal Experience: Minimum of 1 year of personal injury experience, with a solid understanding of the PI case lifecycle and pre‑litigation workflows.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate settlements and handle high‑volume caseloads efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with confidence in client‑facing interactions.
  • Team‑Oriented Mindset: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, contribute to a team‑first culture, and support colleagues when needed to ensure exceptional client service.
  • Independence: Ability to work autonomously with strong organizational skills.
  • Initiative & Ownership: A self‑starter who takes ownership of cases, seeks solutions independently, asks questions when needed, and maintains momentum in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Location Commitment: Must work fully onsite in Cartersville, GA, with a sustainable, reasonable commute.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Clio and exposure to systems like EvenUp are beneficial.
Why you should work here:
  • Direct Mentorship: Work closely with firm owner Glenda Mitchell, gaining invaluable insights and guidance.
  • High‑Impact Role: Engage in a position that is central to client outcomes and the firm’s success.
  • Collaborative Culture: Join a close‑knit team that believes in working together across departments. Employees regularly support one another, communicate openly, and embrace an “all hands on deck” mentality when needed.
  • Growth Opportunities: Join a growing practice offering significant case volume for professional advancement.
  • Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage available after 90 days, with the firm covering 50% of employee premiums.
  • Paid Time Off: Increasing PTO benefits with tenure; starting with one week after one year.
  • Retirement Plan: 401(k) planned for January 2027, enhancing long‑term financial security.
  • Holiday Pay: Enjoy 11 paid holidays, including major federal and seasonal holidays.
  • Employee Appreciation Rewards: Celebrate milestone anniversaries with recognition gifts, including a Louis Vuitton gift at one and five years of service.

Join Glenda Mitchell Law Firm as a Personal Injury Pre‑Litigation Paralegal and become an integral part of a team that makes a difference. We invite passionate and dedicated professionals to apply and contribute to our mission of exceptional client service and advocacy.
