Job summary

Ankin Law, LLC, a Chicago-based injury law firm, is seeking a litigation paralegal to support attorneys in personal injury matters. The role requires coordinating medical records, drafting documents, and filing pleadings, with close attention to deadlines and details.

You will communicate with clients, providers, and opposing counsel, assisting with depositions, mediations, and trials. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software is expected; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a litigation paralegal in a personal injury environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with discovery in personal injury cases.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
• Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients, medical providers, and other parties to gather information and provide updates.
• Obtain, organize, and maintain medical records, imaging, bills, and other materials.
• Assist with drafting and review of legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery, and case management orders.
• Electronically file legal documents.
• Schedule and support attorney with preparing for depositions, mediations, and trials, including notices and coordinating reporters/videographers.
• Correspond effectively with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and clients.
• Provide support during legal proceedings, including coordinating case schedules and deadlines.
