Job summary

Kouyate & Associates Law Firm in Atlanta, GA is seeking a highly organized Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys from case inception to resolution. This in-person role requires at least five years of litigation experience and strong research, document management, and client communication skills.

The successful candidate will handle pleadings, discovery requests, and court filings, coordinating depositions, client interviews, and communications with insurers and experts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience.
• Paralegal certificate required; BA in Paralegal Studies preferred.
• Strong knowledge of document review, proofreading, and filing procedures.
• Proficiency with Clio and legal research tools (Westlaw/LexisNexis).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other tools to support case strategies.
• Manage case files in Clio; ensure records are accurate and accessible.
• Review medical records, accident reports, and related documents for case development.
• Coordinate depositions, client interviews, and court appearances to facilitate litigation.
• Prepare and file legal documents with courts in compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
• Maintain communication with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and witnesses.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will support attorneys handling personal injury cases from inception through resolution, ensuring smooth case progression and efficient management of legal processes. Your proactive approach and legal expertise will help us deliver exceptional client service while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful litigation efforts within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of litigation experience, strong legal research and document management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and legal correspondence related to personal injury claims


• Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies


• Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as Clio, ensuring all records are accurate, complete, and easily accessible


• Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, and other relevant documents for case development


• Coordinate depositions, interviews with clients and witnesses, and court appearances to facilitate smooth litigation processes


• Prepare and file legal documents with courts in compliance with jurisdictional requirements


• Maintain effective communication with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and expert witnesses to facilitate case progress

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience


• Paralegal certificate required (BA in Paralegal Studies preferred)


• Strong knowledge of legal administrative processes including document review, proofreading, transcription, and filing procedures


• Proficiency in legal case management software such as Clio or similar platforms


• Familiarity with legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case analysis and strategy development


• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail


• Effective interviewing skills for client intake and witness statements


• Strong written communication skills for drafting reports, summaries, and correspondence


• Ability to handle administrative tasks such as data entry, file management, phone etiquette, and clerical support efficiently


• Knowledge of law office procedures across various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, Tribal law & regulations, Patent law, Landlord-tenant law, Securities law, Immigration law, Family law, among others is a plus but not required
