Job summary

NPAworldwide in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced paralegal/legal assistant to support personal injury litigation. You will draft pleadings, manage discovery, coordinate with expert witnesses, and assist with all phases of litigation.

The role requires strong knowledge of California court rules, e-filing experience, and a proven track record in supporting attorneys through litigation stages. On-site position with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Plaintiff Personal Injury experience.
• Familiarity with California court rules and civil procedures for state and federal courts.
• Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts.
• Experience supporting attorneys throughout all phases of personal injury litigation.

Responsibilities

• Draft motions and oppositions, mediation briefs, and legal correspondence as requested by attorneys.
• Propound and respond to discovery requests.
• Prepare requests for entry of default and default prove-up documentation.
• Prepare minor's compromise documentation.
• Provide comprehensive support to attorneys throughout all phases of personal injury litigation.
• Maintain regular client contact through phone calls and office visits and provide responsive, customer-service-focused communication.
• Prioritize, organize, and manage an active caseload.
• Calendar hearings, motions, discovery deadlines, and trial deadlines, ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
• Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation.
• Coordinate the retention of expert witnesses and schedule expert witness depositions.
• Assemble trial notebooks and organize trial exhibits.
• Prepare witness lists and jury instructions.
• Prepare and serve trial subpoenas.
• Work with California court rules and civil procedures in state and federal courts.
• Handle electronic filing (e-filing) in California state and federal courts.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in litigation documents, filings, and case-related deadlines.
