Job summary

Heuser & Heuser, L.L.P. is seeking a senior civil litigator to manage a personal injury caseload from filing through resolution in southern Colorado.

The attorney will take and defend depositions, draft and argue discovery and dispositive motions, and develop case theories with retained experts for mediation and trial. The ideal candidate has five years or more of civil litigation experience, strong writing, and comfort using cloud-based case management systems.

Qualifications

• Five years or more of civil litigation experience.
• Plaintiff-side personal injury experience is preferred; defense-side transfers well.
• Independent deposition and motion practice experience.
• Clear, direct legal writing; ability to work in a cloud case management system.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of roughly 30-50 litigated personal injury files from filing through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions, including plaintiff and defendant.

• Handle deadlines with care and professionalism.
• Meet and communicate regularly with clients.

What You Will Do

Carry a caseload of roughly 30-50 litigated personal injury files from filing through resolution.

Take and defend depositions, including plaintiff and defendant.

Draft and argue discovery and dispositive motions.

Develop case theory, work with retained experts, and prepare files for mediation and trial.

Handle deadlines with care and professionalism.

Meet and communicate regularly with clients.

Direct the work of a case manager assigned to your files.

Appear in district courts in all counties in Colorado and attend mediations and settlement conferences.

What We Are Looking For

Licensed and in good standing with the Colorado Supreme Court, or eligible for admission on motion under C.R.C.P. 203.2.

Five years or more of civil litigation experience. Plaintiff-side personal injury experience is preferred, and defense-side litigation experience transfers well here.

Independent deposition and motion practice experience.

Clear, direct legal writing.

Comfort working in a cloud case management system.

Compensation

$225,000 - $275,000 yearly
