Job summary

EqualAccess in downtown Manhattan seeks an Associate Attorney to lead personal injury cases from investigation through resolution, with opportunities for trial. You will work directly with the owner and a supporting attorney, handling filings, depositions, negotiations, and client contacts.

The role offers real responsibility, mentorship, and the chance to grow within a founder-led practice that values independence over rigid structure.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of litigation experience, plaintiff-side is a plus.
Strong legal writing across pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement demands.
Comfortable managing client relationships directly with patience and professionalism.
Organized, deadline-driven, and proactive about surfacing issues early.
Sound judgment and ability to work independently within a small team.
Genuine interest in building trial experience and growing with the practice.

Responsibilities

Case management: manage assigned personal injury matters from investigation to resolution.
Litigation & drafting: draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement demands; take depositions.
Firm & practice development: collaborate with owner, attorney, and paralegal; participate in referrals.
