Legacy Legal Recruiting LLC in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to manage a litigation caseload from filing through verdict in a remote role based in the Houston area.

The ideal candidate will handle depositions, motions, mediations, and trials as lead or second-chair counsel, collaborate with experts, and uphold Florida Bar-style procedures while supporting high-value personal injury cases.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Texas Bar in good standing.
  • 2+ years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience preferred.
  • First-chair or second-chair jury trial experience.
  • Experience handling depositions, mediations, and contested hearings.
  • Knowledge of Florida civil litigation procedures and rules.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and courtroom presentation skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume litigation caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a litigation caseload from inception through settlement, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
  • Serve as lead counsel on litigated personal injury matters.
  • Develop and execute strategic litigation and trial plans.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
  • Prepare clients, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses for deposition, mediation, and trial.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions in limine.
  • Attend and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Conduct jury selection, opening statements, direct and cross-examinations, and closing arguments.
  • Work closely with medical experts, accident reconstructionists, economists, life care planners, and other expert witnesses.
  • Evaluate settlement opportunities while preparing every case as if it will proceed to trial.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Bar rules, court procedures, and ethical standards.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to manage a litigation caseload from filing through verdict. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of handling complex personal injury matters, taking and defending depositions, arguing substantive motions, attending mediations, and serving as first-chair or second-chair trial counsel. This is a remote position, but candidates need to be based in the Houston area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Significant experience handling depositions, mediations, and contested hearings.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida civil litigation procedures, evidence rules, and personal injury law.
  • Proven track record of obtaining favorable settlements, verdicts, and case resolutions.
  • Exceptional written and oral advocacy, negotiation, and courtroom presentation skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume litigation caseload.
  • Excellent organizational and case management abilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience managing high-value and complex litigation matters.
  • Experience handling catastrophic injury, trucking accidents, wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury cases.
  • Multiple jury trials to verdict.
