Role Description

This full‑time, on‑site Personal Injury Attorney role is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The attorney will manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution, including client consultations, case evaluation, and ongoing communications. Daily responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement demands, as well as conducting legal research and preparing for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial. The attorney will negotiate with insurance carriers and opposing counsel, collaborate with paralegals and support staff to gather records and evidence, and maintain accurate, timely documentation in the firm’s case management system. The role also includes participating in strategy meetings, supporting business development efforts as needed, and ensuring high standards of client service and ethical practice.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney in good standing with the Florida Bar, with experience handling personal injury or civil litigation matters.
• Strong litigation skills, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, and preparing for hearings, mediations, and trial.
• Client‑focused skills, including interviewing, counseling, managing expectations, and maintaining clear, empathetic communication with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Negotiation and advocacy skills, including evaluating case value, negotiating with insurance companies and opposing counsel, and effectively presenting arguments in court and alternative dispute resolution settings.
• Organizational and case management skills, including managing multiple files, meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and using case management and legal research software efficiently.
• Collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners, associates, paralegals, and administrative staff in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and professionalism.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; relevant clerkship or prior experience in personal injury, insurance defense, or plaintiff‑side litigation is strongly preferred.
