Job summary

Landmark Credit Union in Bayside, WI seeks a Personal Financial Officer to assist members with a broad range of financial needs, originate consumer loans, and guide them through the application and closing process.

You will open deposit relationships, process home equity loan applications, and ensure all disclosures are completed accurately.

This 40‑hour per week role requires weekday shifts and every other Saturday; bilingual skills are preferred and prior teller or lending experience is helpful.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of customer service or sales experience; a financial background is preferred.
  • Prior teller or lending experience is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and explain credit bureau reports, and to liaise with members to satisfy loan stipulations and close loans.
  • Ability to recommend appropriate deposit and loan products based on member need.
  • Excellent customer service and strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, and ability to work independently with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Must have or be able to obtain NMLS registration; knowledge of company policies and regulations is required.
  • Experience in a financial institution and adherence to regulatory requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage loan pipelines and obtain required documentation from members.
  • Provide solutions regarding financial products and services; open accounts and deposits; process service requests.
  • Cross-sell accounts and loans, including referrals to Landmark Investment Center.
  • Promote GAP and Payment Protection to members as appropriate.
  • Disclose required information to loan applicants and ensure timely processing.
  • Resolve member issues and inquiries; educate members on available automated systems and services.

BRANCH HOURS
  • Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Friday, 8:30 AM to 6 PM
  • Saturday, 9 AM to 1 PM
NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager and is responsible for assisting members with a broad range of financial needs. The Personal Financial Officer is a trusted resource to members by identifying appropriate deposit and lending solutions, originating consumer loans, and supporting members through the application and closing process.

This position is accountable for opening and maintaining deposit relationships, processing home equity loan applications, and ensuring all required documentation and disclosures are completed accurately and timely.

The Personal Financial Officer contributes to overall branch performance by building member relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and supporting day-to-day branch operations.

REQUIREMENTS
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of customer service or sales experience preferably within a financial institution. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  2. Prior teller or lending experience preferred.
  3. Demonstrated ability to understand and explain credit bureau reports, liaise with members in satisfying loan stipulations, schedule closings and process loan documents.
  4. Demonstrated ability in understanding and recommending appropriate deposit and loan products based on member need.
  5. Demonstrated ability in providing excellent customer service.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  7. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  8. Must have or be able to attain National Mortgage Licensing System registration (NMLS#).
  9. Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
  10. Must understand and comply with all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Works loan pipelines, understands loan documentation and follows through to obtain all required documentation from members.
  2. Provides solutions to members regarding financial products and services. Opens savings products, IRA/HSA products, and service requests.
  3. Cross sells accounts and loans, including making referrals to Landmark Investment Center.
  4. Consistently sells GAP and Payment Protection to members.
  5. Provides required disclosures to applicants.
  6. Resolves member issues/problems and competently responds to member inquiries.
  7. Educates members as to the use of available automated systems in order and sets them up for these services.
  8. May be required to attend training at headquarters or an off-site location.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
