Job description

Position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations.

Responsibilities

• Provide full breadth of personal financial counseling to military service members and families at installations.
• Deliver educational and counseling addressing financial services including one‑on‑one counseling, consultations with commanders or other providers, briefings, presentations, and referrals.
• Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program is within scope and meets installation needs.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle, including arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and personal and career events.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes (web‑based, secure online chat, video‑based communication, secure video teleconference) as authorized by the contract.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information on trends and issues at the installation.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate degree plus 4 years of experience, high school diploma plus 6 years of experience, or bachelor’s degree required (bachelor’s preferred).
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen speaking fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required.
• Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
