Magellan Health, Inc. is seeking a qualified financial counselor to provide one-on-one services to service members and families on military installations. The role covers surge and on-demand coverage, consultations with commanders, briefings, and referrals to external resources.

Remote communication tools may be used as part of counseling programs. Required are a Bachelor’s degree (or higher with related experience), at least 3 years of financial counseling, and US citizenship with English

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; may accept associate +4 years of experience or high school diploma +6 years.
• Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required.
• Able to obtain a favorable Tier2 investigation and pass OCI process.
• Must hold AFC, CFP, or ChFC certification.

Responsabilités

• Develop and coordinate financial materials and Personal Financial Management classes.

• Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership, participate in supervision, and share trends.
• Participate in trainings, quality-improvement committees, and contract activities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Overview

This position will provide coverage in short‑term, surge and on‑demand situations resulting from military needs such as a post‑deployment event or to cover an existing assignment for counselors who are absent. The role involves the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at military installations.

Responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one personal financial counseling and related services, including consultations with commanders or other providers, briefings, presentations, and referrals to outside resources.
• Work closely with installation and military branch points of contact to ensure programs meet installation needs and remain within scope.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop, distribute, and coordinate informational financial materials and Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication methods such as secure online chat, video‑based communications, and video teleconference.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership, participate in regular supervision, and share information on trends and issues.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; may consider associate +4 years of experience or high school diploma +6 years of experience.
• Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Benefits and Compensation

Salary Minimum: $58,440; Salary Maximum: $93,500. The position may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, and other benefits.
