Magellan Health is seeking a qualified candidate to provide financial counseling services for military service members and their families. Responsibilities include developing spending plans, delivering Personal Financial Management classes, and ensuring service alignment with installation needs.
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of financial counseling experience and a Bachelor's degree. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, along with relevant certifications. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
This position provides coverage in short-term, surge, and on-demand situations resulting from military needs, such as post-deployment events or to cover existing assignments for counselors who are absent. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. Services include education and counseling addressing financial services, one-on-one counseling, consultations with a commander or other providers, briefings and presentations, and providing referral resources outside the counseling context. The role works closely with installation and military branch points of contact (POC) to ensure services are within scope and meet installation needs.
Virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video teleconference) may be used as appropriate and may be authorized by the appropriate DoD program office. The role may involve duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol, regular supervision, and participation in training, quality improvement activities, and contract-related duties as assigned. All other duties as assigned.
