Spread Your Wings (SYW) Direct Care Staff (DCS) are responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive environment that ensures the quality of life for our clients. DCS’s primary duty is to provide support tailored to each individual's needs and desires, enabling them to live as independently as possible. DCS should recognize crises and apply appropriate procedures professionally and safely.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist, monitor, and teach individuals with daytime activities, encouraging good personal hygiene and appropriate behavior. Activities may include grocery shopping, menu planning, meal preparation, and cleanup.
• Assist, monitor, and teach budgeting skills.
• Facilitate house meetings and informal discussion groups with peers.
• Handle emergency situations appropriately and utilize crisis interventions when necessary.
• Support individuals in utilizing public transportation, transport them to appointments, and perform other duties as assigned.
