Job summary

Miramar Rehab is looking for a compassionate Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to join our faith-based team caring for residents.

You will assist with activities of daily living, take vital signs when directed, help turn and reposition residents, support transfers and mobility, and ensure meals, hydration, and cleanliness are provided in a safe, respectful setting.

Strong communication, high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of an 8-hour preservice training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an 8-hour preservice training course (5 hours classroom, 3 hours supervised simulation) required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and support residents safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and incontinence care.
• Take and document vital signs as directed.
• Turn and reposition residents in bed to prevent skin breakdown.
• Help with one-person transfers and mobility support.
• Escort or remind residents to meals, pass hydration and snacks at designated times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in resident rooms and shared spaces.
• Monitor resident status and report changes or incidents to the Nurse or Administrator.
• Make beds.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing team.
