Right at Home Austin West is seeking caregivers to provide non-healthcare in-home services, assist clients in their residence or a facility, and support a safe, clean environment under supervision.

The role involves companionship, meal prep, and maintaining privacy and respect for clients. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and English literacy to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma preferred.
• Licensure: Must have current drivers license. Experience: One year experience preferred.
• Skills: Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively. Demonstrates interest in the welfare of ill and elderly. Hepatitis B consent/declination.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid current auto liability insurance.

Job Summary

Primary function is to provide non-health care related services to the client in their place of residence or a facility; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with client and family and share observations and problems with the supervisor. Works under the direction of a registered nurse.

Environmental and Working Conditions

Works in patient’s homes in various conditions, possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases, the ability to work a flexible schedule, the ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and Mental Effort

Prolonged standing and walking required. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines, to identify patient needs, to make quick decisions and meet patient/family psycho social needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
