Job summary

Helping Heart in Tampa is seeking friendly Personal Care Assistants to provide compassionate support for our residents. We offer multiple schedules, including hourly, live-in, night shift, weekend-only, and PRN.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, and dementia support. Qualifications include background screening, HS diploma, CPR/First Aid, and reliable transportation. Salary is $13–$15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Pass a Level 2 background screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent, CPR, First Aid, TB test.
• Minimum 6 months caregiving experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, and care.
• Assist with toileting and use of bedside devices.
• Help with mobility using walkers, canes, wheelchairs.
• Light housekeeping, laundry, bed-making, tidying.
• Prepare and serve meals, assist with feeding.
• Provide skin care and prevent breakdown.
• Assist with safe transfers and dementia care.
• Support residents with proper body alignment.

Job description

We are seeking friendly, caring, and compassionate Personal Care Assistants to provide excellent support and care for our residents.

We are currently hiring for various schedules and shifts, including:

• Hourly (Monday-Sunday)
• Live-In
• Night Shift
• Weekend-Only
• PRN (As Needed)

The number of shifts per week is negotiable, but availability for Saturdays and/or Sundays on a rotating basis is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, shaving, and perineal care.
• Provide support with toileting, including the use of bedside commodes, bedpans, and urinals.
• Help with mobility and ambulation, using walkers, canes, and wheelchairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment by assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, bed-making, and tidying up.
• Prepare and serve meals, assist with feeding, and ensure proper clean-up.
• Provide skin care support to help prevent skin breakdown.
• Assist with safe transfers to ensure resident mobility and security.
• Support residents with early-stage Alzheimer's or dementia by offering patient and compassionate care.
• Promote proper body alignment to prevent complications from immobility.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a Level 2 background screening
• High school diploma or equivalent, CPR, First Aide, TB Test
• Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of meal preparation and light housekeeping.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform essential duties without physical limitations.
