Job summary

Vancrest of Urbana, Inc. is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support residents with personal care, comfort, and timely assistance.

You will contribute to nursing care delivery, maintain a safe environment, and help with nutrition per each resident's care plan. Position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, pass background checks and drug tests, read and write English, and may involve state testing if not certified.

Qualifications

• Must read/write English.
• Ability to move, stand, bend, and lift during shifts.
• Capable of lifting at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with resident evacuation when needed.
• Eligible to pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to residents with quality, compassion, and timeliness.
• Deliver nursing care and report to the charge nurse.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
• Meet residents' nutritional needs per care plan and report to director.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Patient Care Assistant (PCA)

The job responsibilities of the PCA include:

• Ensuring that residents' personal care needs are provided for with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness.
• Ensuring that residents' medical needs are addressed through the delivery of quality nursing care and reporting to charge nurse.
• Maintaining a physical environment in a clean, safe and pleasant manner.
• Ensuring that nutritional needs of residents are met in accordance with established care plan and reporting to appropriate director
• Performing other related activities as assigned or requested.
• Ensuring residents' medication needs are met.

Requirements of PCA:

• Move (sit, stand, bend and lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
• Lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Assist with the evacuation of residents.
• Read/write English language
• Pass a background check and drug test
• STNA not required, but preferred.
• Will state test if not certified.
