Job summary

Vancrest of Urbana, Inc. is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide compassionate personal care to residents in a Kentucky facility. This role emphasizes timely, high-quality care and close communication with nursing staff.

You will support residents with daily activities, assist with medical and nutritional needs per care plans, and help maintain a clean, safe environment. The position requires reading and writing English and passing background checks.

Qualifications

• Move, sit, stand, bend, and lift during shift.
• Read/write English.
• Pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring residents' personal care needs are met with quality, compassion, and timeliness.
• Deliver nursing care and report to charge nurse for medical needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
• Ensure residents' nutritional needs align with care plans and report to director.
• Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
• Meet residents' medication needs as required.

The job responsibilities of the PCA include:

• Ensuring that residents' personal care needs are provided for with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness.


• Ensuring that residents' medical needs are addressed through the delivery of quality nursing care and reporting to charge nurse.


• Maintaining a physical environment in a clean, safe and pleasant manner.


• Ensuring that nutritional needs of residents are met in accordance with established care plan and reporting to appropriate director


• Performing other related activities as assigned or requested.


• Ensuring residents' medication needs are met.

Requirements of PCA:

• Move (sit, stand, bend and lift) intermittently throughout the workday.


• Lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.


• Assist with the evacuation of residents.


• Read/write English language


• Pass a background check and drug test


• STNA not required, but preferred.


• Will state test if not certified.
