Job summary

Central Bucks School District is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for Bridge Valley Elementary School for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time position includes a 10-month schedule with benefits; compensation is $20.84 per hour.

The role involves working one-to-one with students with autism or related needs, providing support in classrooms, during meals, and recess, and assisting with daily activities and social skills. Training is provided for crisis prevention per IEP.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at time of hire.
• Must work as a team member; effective communication with students and adults; be a positive role model for students.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support with a student during classroom, specials, lunch and recess.
• Assist with daily activities and social interactions.
• Follow IEP crisis prevention procedures; training provided by CBSD.

Duties include working one-to-one with a student with one or more of the following needs: autism/emotional/behavioral needs/intellectual disability/medical needs/physical needs/grooming and personal care needs/academic needs/organizational and impulsivity needs, in the classroom, specials, lunch and recess. Assist student with daily activities, both academic and social.

• If student toileting is required, additional $1.25 per hour will be added to base pay.

Employment contingent upon personal care services being required for the student's individualized educational program.

Utilization of crisis prevention techniques/strategies (including possible restraint as a last resort) with students who require such in their IEP. Training will be provided via CBSD.

Requirements

High School Diploma/Transcripts or GED equivalent required at time of hire (the minimum). Must work as a team member, exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks, effectively communicate with both students and adults and be a positive role model for students.

Physical Requirements

To work in a classroom environment for extended periods of time including but not limited to sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking, talking, hearing, climbing stairs and occasional lifting, up to 20 lbs.
