Job summary

Central Bucks School District is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for the 2026-2027 school year at Central Bucks High School South. This full-time position offers benefits and requires daily collaboration with students and school staff.

Responsibilities include one-to-one support for students with autism/emotional/behavioral or medical needs, assisting with daily activities and academics; 10-month schedule; additional $1.25/hour if toileting is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Transcripts or GED equivalent required at time of hire (the minimum).
• Must work as a team member, exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks, effectively communicate with both students and adults and be a positive role model for students.

• Assist student with daily activities, both academic and social.
• If student toileting is required, an additional $1.25 per hour will be added to base pay.
• Employment contingent upon personal care services being required for the student's IEP.
• Utilization of crisis prevention techniques/strategies (including possible restraint as a last resort) with students who require such in their IEP. Training will be provided via CBSD.

Duties include working one-to-one with a student with one or more of the following needs: autism/emotional/behavioral needs/intellectual disability/medical needs/physical needs/grooming and personal care needs/academic needs/organizational and impulsivity needs, in the classroom, specials, lunch and recess. Assist student with daily activities, both academic and social.

*If student toileting is required, additional $1.25 per hour will be added to base pay.

Physical Requirements

to work in a classroom environment for extended periods of time including but not limited to sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking, talking, hearing, climbing stairs and occasional lifting, up to 20 lbs.

All employment is provisional for 90 days as required by ACT 168 of 2014, enacted December 22, 2014.
