Job summary

Interim HealthCare is seeking Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers to provide in-home care in Howard County. You will support seniors with daily living activities, mobility, and companionship, helping them stay safe and independent at home.

We offer flexible scheduling with a pay range of $14-$16 per hour, with benefits including 1:1 client ratios and opportunities for training and tuition discounts. Join a nationwide caregiver network focused on compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months healthcare experience preferred.
• CPR certification and COVID-19 vaccination are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors at home.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meals, transportation and companionship.
• Assist with mobility and range of motion; provide medication reminders.
• Maintain safe home environment and notify supervisor of concerns.
• Engage clients in activities to promote well-being and joy.

As a Personal Care Assistant/Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• CPR certification
• Covid-19 vaccination card
• Valid MD driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
