Job summary

Lawton Public Schools is seeking a Special Services / Personal Care Assistant to support students district-wide. The role includes helping with arrival/departure, supporting individual goals, and supervising students to foster academic success.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one academic and daily activity assistance, assist with personal hygiene as needed, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time, permanent position within a safety-focused educational team.

Duties / Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Assist teacher in the management of student arrival and departure activities.
• Assist with the individual goals of students.
• Support learning experiences that will assist student academic success.
• Assist in the supervision of the students.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain safety and welfare of students.
• Provide one-to-one assistance with academic and/or daily activities.
• Assist in student personal hygiene (may include changing diapers, assist in feeding, dressing or bathroom functions, cleaning face/hands).
• Assist in lifting/transferring.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend/kneel while completing responsibilities listed previously.
• Other duties as assigned.
