Job summary

Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist an individual living in Garfield, Bergen County, NJ. This is a community-based, one-on-one support role focused on person-centered care and meaningful participation in daily activities.

The DSP will help with daily living tasks, transportation, and engagement in community activities, while adhering to individualized plans and maintaining open communication with guardians and staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming as needed)
• Supporting housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning)
• Preparing meals according to dietary needs
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living skills
• Following individualized service plans and behavior support strategies
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities
• Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities
• Promoting safety and well-being at all times
• Maintaining professional communication with guardians and agency staff

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual living in Garfield. Bergen County, NJ.

This is a community-based position. The DSP will provide support in the individual’s home and assist with safe, structured participation in community activities.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently in a one-on-one setting.

Our approach to services is person-centered, meaning we focus on the individual’s preferences in what they would like out of services.

seeking a DSP who can assist her with her activities of daily living. She is classified as total care and requires physical assistance with bathing, toileting, and feeding. Her guardian prefers a Spanish-speaking DSP to ensure clear and effective communication and provide appropriate support for her needs.

SCHEDULE:

x6 days of service

Monday – Friday

7:00am – 12:00

5 hours shift

Saturday or Sunday

10:00am – 4:00pm

6 hours shift

31 hours a week

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Reliable personal vehicle (community-based support required)
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
• Authorized to work legally in the United States
