Formación

• High School Diploma preferred.

• PHCAST Homemaker training completion is required or preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide companionship, socialization, and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation following dietary guidelines.
• Perform light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, vacuuming, dusting, tidying).
• Run errands, assist with grocery shopping, and accompany to appointments or social activities.
• Provide reminders for medications, appointments, and hydration (without administering).
• Observe and report changes to Nursing Supervisor; maintain client safety and home environment.

Job Title: Homemaker / CompanionAreas: Springfield / Indian Orchard / Wilbraham / LudlowReports To: Scheduling Coordinator and Nursing SupervisorRISK OF EXPOSURE TO BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS-HIGHFull-Time & Part-Time Caregivers Approximately 20–40 hours available for the Springfield / Indian Orchard / Wilbraham / Ludlow areaPosition Summary:The Homemaker/Companion provides essential non-medical support services to clients in their homes to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. This role supports clients' independence, promotes social engagement, and provides assistance with household tasks under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and direction of the Scheduling Coordinator.Key Responsibilities:Supportive Services:Provide companionship, socialization, and emotional support to clients.Assist with meal planning and preparation according to dietary guidelines.Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, dishwashing, vacuuming, dusting, and general tidying.Assist with errands, grocery shopping, and escort to appointments or social activities (as applicable).Provide reminders for medications (without administering), appointments, and hydration.Client Safety & Communication:Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or home environment to the Nursing Supervisor.Communicate effectively with the Scheduling Coordinator regarding schedule changes, availability, and client concerns.Ensure the client’s living environment is safe and free from hazards.Compliance & Conduct:Follow agency policies, procedures, and all applicable state regulations.Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.Participate in required training and ongoing in-service education.Always maintain a respectful and professional demeanor.Utilize agency software for EVV/GPS for documentation and clocking in and out of shifts.Physical Requirements:Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing household tasks.Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).Previous experience in home care, housekeeping, or elder care setting (preferred).Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and follow instructions.Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the service area.Successful completion and certificate submission of the Executive Office of Aging & Independence Homemaker training component of the Personal and Home Care Aide State Training program (PHCAST).Work Schedule:Flexible hours; may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays based on client needs and agency requirements.
