Functional Requirements

Requirements

Caregivers must be physically capable of assisting clients with dressing, feeding, hair care, mouth care, shaving (electric or safety razor only), nail care (excluding trimming), positioning, toileting, and transfers.

• Ability to push and pull a minimum of 100 pounds.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Capability to move in tight spaces and between objects and furniture.
• Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, squatting, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and reaching above and below shoulder level.
• Ability to perform physical functions continuously for up to an hour without rest.

Other Requirements

• Active membership on the Health Care Worker Registry
• Two references required
• At least 1 year of experience as a homemaker and relevant skills/experience indicating supervisory ability
• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of all background checks upon hire and throughout employment
• Completion of IDOA CCP training for Homemaker Supervisor
• Vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work in various client homes on a routine basis
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate weekly with the branch office
