What The Role Is

As a Personal Banker, you will provide best-in-class service by processing routine banking transactions while developing deep customer relationships and understanding their needs. You will identify and offer suitable personal and business financial products, educate customers on alternative transaction channels, and assist clients with various needs in a cross-functional universal banking model.

This position requires travel to branches as needed within the market.

Responsibilities

1. Support transactional needs and identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships.
2. Open and process consumer and small business deposit accounts, providing appropriate solutions.
3. Work effectively in a team environment with regular interactions with teammates and customers.
4. Limited origination of simple consumer lending products such as personal loans and credit cards.
5. Educate customers on bank channels including online and mobile banking, interactive tellers, and ATMs.
6. Meet or exceed sales/referral and activity objectives.
7. Handle cash and adhere to balancing procedures.
8. Maintain knowledge of products, fees, policies, and current offers to assist customers.
9. Explore customer financial needs and refer them to appropriate services or departments.
10. Ensure compliance with all applicable bank regulations and stay updated on regulatory changes.
11. Participate in community activities such as CRA and financial literacy initiatives.

Who You Are

• Possess foundational sales and service knowledge for consumers and small businesses.
• Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and relationship nurturing skills, even in challenging situations.

Education

• High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.

Experience

• Previous banking or sales experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of cash handling experience preferred.
