Job summary

First Bank is seeking a Personal Banker I in Orangeburg, SC to assess customers' financial needs and recommend suitable products. Under supervision, you will nurture relationships at the service window and through needs-based sales.

You will open accounts, process loan applications, handle deposits and transfers, and provide courteous service while adhering to regulatory requirements. 1–3 years in banking or customer-facing sales is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience in reception or secretarial duties in a business environment.
• In-house training or financial industry related curriculum should be business/financial related.
• Knowledge of bank operations, products, services and related laws/regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets and related software.
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Personal Banker and Service Representative functions to deliver efficient, professional service.
• Open personal and business accounts and prepare related documentation.
• Input and close personal loan applications including DDA lines of credit and credit card applications.
• Assist customers with requests, complaints, research and follow-ups to resolve matters.
• Provide transactional support to tellers and branch staff; adhere to security procedures.
• Interact with customers via telephone or in person; support multiple branch locations as needed.
• Generate and maintain profitable customer relationships while meeting financial needs and expectations.
• Engage in outbound calling and needs assessment to generate referrals for additional products.
