GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will undergo a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, there will be a certification to demonstrate the skills necessary for the Retail Personal Banker I role. This position focuses on using a consultative sales process to identify and meet customers' financial needs, acquiring new households, and deepening existing relationships through activities like lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. The role involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

The role is responsible for risk management, adhering to policies, ensuring a positive customer experience, and operating within the Bank's risk appetite while achieving results through risk assessment and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Utilize the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to understand customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  3. Use CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as community events and presentations.
  5. Build relationships with Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, Investment) and refer customers when appropriate.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals to drive revenue growth.
  7. Guide Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) in sales and referral processes.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
  9. Respond confidently to customer questions and own customer issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and act ethically following the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies.
  11. Follow policies when opening and servicing retail products.
  12. Participate in loan and bankcard processes, owning sourced loans from application to closing.
  13. Assist in opening/closing of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  14. Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and mitigate risks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree, relevant work experience, or a combination.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility; some travel outside for classroom training.
