GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for the role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. This role involves acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through activities like lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. It also includes processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

They are responsible for risk management by following policies and procedures, ensuring a positive customer experience, and operating within the Bank's risk appetite while managing risks effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  3. Utilize marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments.
  4. Focus on cross-selling and outside sales activities like community events and financial literacy sessions.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers to provide holistic solutions.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) in sales and referral processes.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and a helpful demeanor.
  9. Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and policies.
  11. Participate in loan and bankcard processes, from application to closing.
  12. Assist with opening and closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  13. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • College degree, work experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and procedures for sound decision-making.
  • Must be registered with S.A.F.E. Act through NMLS at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for training sessions.
