Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Aid customers in opening, managing, and optimizing bank accounts and products.
  • Greet walk-in customers and handle phone coverage with excellence.
  • Refer clients to Merchant, Wye Financial, Commercial Relationship Managers and Branch Lenders.
  • Process loans and handle routine inquiries about loans, rates, and payments.
  • Work on Teller line as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and represent the Bank positively.
  • Train employees on customer conversations, referrals, and needs conversations.
  • Handle requests: check orders, debit cards, address changes, business signers, fraud disputes, safe deposit boxes.
  • Open new consumer and business accounts including CDs, IRAs, and safe deposit boxes.
  • Provide superior service to identify additional client needs both in person and by phone.
  • Attend Branch Team Meetings and comply with laws and policies.
  • Complete required regulatory training (BSA, CRA, ECOA) and support risk management.

Shore United Bank is seeking a Personal Banker to join our team. As a Personal Banker, you'll play a key role in helping clients take control of their financial future. You'll partner closely with individuals to understand their unique goals and provide personalized guidance on managing accounts, growing savings, and selecting the right banking and investment products. What You'll Do:
  • Aid customers in opening, managing, and optimizing their bank accounts and other products.
  • Ensure and maintain excellence in front-line coverage to greet and assist walk-in customers and cover the phones.
  • Work closely with bank partners for client referrals to Merchant, Wye Financial, Commercial Relationship Managers, and Branch Lenders.
  • Provide loan processing for customers based on loan authority established by Loan Policy; take applications and handle routine inquiries concerning loans, rates, and payment schedules.
  • Work on Teller line as needed.
  • Represent the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers, and co-workers.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained
  • Train employees on beneficial customer conversations to help the employee meet the customer's financial needs, i.e. referral training, cross-selling, needs conversations, etc.
  • Perform customer requests including but not limited to check orders, issuing debit cards, address changes, changing of business signers, fraud disputes, and safe deposit box entry.
  • Open new consumer and business accounts including CD's, IRA's, and safe deposit boxes.
  • Provide superior customer service through conversation to identify additional client needs, in-person and over the phone.
  • Help conduct and attend Branch Team Meetings.
  • Abide by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  • Demonstrates compliance awareness by completing all required regulatory and compliance training (e.g., BSA, CRA, ECOA) on or before deadlines, and actively supporting all policies, procedures, and practices that promote risk management, safety, and regulatory adherence.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Full-time.
  • Non-exempt.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday, with rotating Saturdays (Closed Sundays and all Federal Holidays)
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in banking with an understanding of consumer lending.
  • Prior experience in bank teller or customer service role with strong knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Networking, marketing, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to identify cues and clues for additional opportunities.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a branch office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction printer/scanner/copier devices. In addition to standard office equipment, this role also uses cash and coin counters and, in some cases, a teller cash recycler. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the office or branch environment for extended periods; perform routine office tasks; communicate effectively; interact with customers and team members; and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Frequent use of standard office equipment and extended periods of viewing computer screens and reviewing detailed information are required. The role also requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend, stoop, and lift or carry materials, including up to 50 pounds of bulk coin/currency. Compensation:
  • The pay range for this position is $22.50 to $26.50 hourly.
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
