Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Part-time Personal Attendant openings for weekends/weekdays, different shifts available in Richmond, Emeryville, San Pablo, and Oakland, California.

Pay Rate:

• The awake rate is $20.00 per hour and $18.67 for OVERNIGHT ONLY.
• Open shifts 8:00 to 4:00 pm, 4:00 to 11:00 pm, on different days.
• Pathway to Choices offers Medical and Dental Benefits to full-time Employees, 401k Retirement plan, and paid time off.
• Candidate must have lasted more than a year at their past or current jobs. All others will not be acceptable.

Pathway to Choices provides Independent Living, Supported Living, and Adult Day Services to people with developmental disabilities. We value consumer choice and emphasize independent living and home support. We are seeking caring assistants to support our consumers, with a friendly and outgoing personality and clear communication skills. Consumers need assistance with daily activities.

Available positions include full-time (30+ hours/week with benefits and 401k) and part-time, including overnight and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities may include:

For Supported Living Caregiver:

• Assisting with dressing, grooming, showers, and personal hygiene.
• Cooking and household chores assistance.
• Supporting activities of daily living, social outings, and entertainment prep.
• Distributing medications, maintaining logs, and refilling medications.
• Arranging medical appointments and transportation.
• Completing progress notes.

For Independent Living Skills Instructor:

• Household maintenance.
• Documenting consumer progress.
• Money management.
• Building relationships with consumers, colleagues, and outside contacts.

Physical Demands:

• Standing, walking, reaching, bending.
• Lifting at least 45 lbs and transfer experience required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Interest in supporting consumers' needs and choices.
• Flexibility.
• Valid California Driver's License, transportation, insurance, and registration.
• Good physical health verified by health screening and TB test.
• Completion of criminal background checks, training (First Aid, CPR, ProAct).

Preferred Knowledge:

• Knowledge of California's adult developmental disability services.
• Willingness to work with adults with disabilities and behavior management programs.
• Understanding of normalization, inclusion, positive programming, and consumer-driven services.
• Completion of required training.
