Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy Heartland is seeking compassionate Personal Assistants (Direct Care Providers) for PART-TIME evening shifts in Webster Groves, Saint Louis, MO.

You will assist with daily tasks, personal hygiene, ADLs, transfers, and community activities; follow medical orders, document shift activities, and complete 5–7 days of mandatory training at our corporate office (paid).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Minimum one weekend shift per weekend.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field.
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living assistance and personal hygiene support.
• Follow medical orders and administer medications.
• Assist with ADLs, lift and transfer, wheelchair repositioning, and adaptive transportation.
• Shift documentation using Set-Works and general housekeeping.
• Interact with families and maintain a fun, outgoing personality.
• Offer choices to clients for daily activities and community outings.

(THIS IS A SET 6 Hour Weekly SCHEDULE)

As a PERSONAL ASSISTANT/DSP (Direct Care Provider)you will perform the following responsibilities:

Provide physical assistance with daily tasks, assist with personal hygiene and facilitate fun activities.

Follow medical orders and administer medications.

Assist with ADL's, Lift and Transfer (includes ceiling lifts, repositioning in wheelchair, etc), Adaptive Transportation.

Shift documentation using Set-Works and general housekeeping.

Will interact with family often. Please have a fun, outgoing and positive personality.

Most importantly,provide choices to the clients for their daily activities to provide entertainment and community outings

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or its equivalent (GED).
• Clean Driving Record and successfully completes and maintains assigned drivers training
• A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEKEND SHIFT PER WEEKEND
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to consistently work in a professional, cooperative manner with all Agency clients and personnel.
• Good written and oral communication skills
