Job summary

PCC Community Markets in Edmonds, WA seeks a Person In Charge to oversee the full store operation, role modeling exceptional customer service and ensuring PCC policies are followed.

You will supervise the front end, manage schedules for cashiers and clerks, coach staff, and handle safety and security of people and PCC property while maintaining clean, compliant departments.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
• Available to work closing shifts, including weekends
• Excellent leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills
• Ability to quickly assess situations and think of creative solutions
• Ability to operate an electronic register – must demonstrate basic math skills, ability to handle money accurately, and be proficient at 10-key
• Excellent attention to detail, multitasking skills, and organizational skills required
• Previous retail or public customer contact experience and background in cashiering/retail grocery industry required
• Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
• If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)
• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Handles security issues carefully and responsibly
• Maintains orderly appearance of register area and ensures department sanitation cleanliness and safety standards are met
• Protects the safety of staff and customers and the security of PCC property
• Handles daily use and any problems with equipment properly and ensures adherence to store standards
• Cashiers when needed
• Closing PIC’s are responsible for counting down tills and other tasks as required
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
