ERM in the San Francisco, CA area seeks Permitting Coordinators to support power-utility vegetation management across Northern California. Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years experience supporting environmental or utility permitting.
• Knowledge of federal/state H&S regulations, contractor safety management, auditing, and safety program development.
• Familiarity with encroachment packages for Caltrans, State Parks, USFS and local districts.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple permit streams to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients and regulatory personnel.
• Proficiency in data handling and Excel; willingness to learn permitting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of permit applications related to vegetation management, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Track and monitor application progress, providing timely updates to internal teams and clients to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to collect and verify data for permits.
• Build relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to support timely permit issuance.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
• Support planning through research and staying current on regulatory changes and permit processes.
