ERM is seeking a Permitting Coordinator (Field Based) in the San Francisco, CA area, focusing on power-utility vegetation management. The role involves overseeing permit applications from start to finish, coordinating across teams, and adapting to evolving regulatory requirements with some on-site work in northern California.

This is a full-time, limited-term role (12 months) with potential extension. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication with clients and agencies are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
• 1-3 years experience supporting environmental or utility permitting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and regulatory personnel.
• Proficiency in data handling and analysis using Excel; willingness to learn new permitting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage permit applications related to vegetation management, ensuring compliance with environmental and utility regulations.
• Track progress and provide updates to internal teams and clients to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to verify data for permits.
• Build relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to support timely permit issuance.
