Job summary

UES is seeking a Permitting Manager to lead end-to-end permitting for engineering projects, coordinating with internal teams and regulators to secure timely approvals. You will manage applications, maintain timelines, and interpret regulatory requirements.

This role requires strong technical writing, communication, and organization, with 5+ years in permitting or project management in engineering or environmental consulting; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in environmental-related field.
• Master's degree preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of permitting, regulatory compliance, or project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end permitting process for engineering projects including land development, construction, and environmental compliance.
• Serve as the primary liaison between project teams and local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
• Oversee preparation and submittal of permit applications, including technical documentation and supporting materials.
• Monitor and manage timelines to ensure permits are obtained on schedule to meet project deadlines.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Track and maintain a comprehensive database of all permits, approvals, and associated conditions.
• Coordinate with design, environmental, and construction teams to ensure alignment of permit conditions with project execution.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on permitting procedures, documentation, and best practices.
• Represent the organization in public meetings, hearings, or consultations related to permitting matters.
• Stay informed of changes in regulatory requirements and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.
